Well, I finally went to Women of Faith. Finally got a chance see what WOF was all about.....but got to be honest, I didn't really like it. It was not that good, but probably it was just this year. Even my sister said this year was not as good as the year before, when she went to the one in Dallas. Not that I hate it, but I felt it was more suited for older women. I couldn't really relate to most of their stories, which was the whole concept of the conference.....5 women telling their life stories, the difficulties that they went through and how God had blessed them through it, according to the topic. The topic is change every year.
My favorites were Patsy Chairmont and Thelma Wells. Patsy was this cute old lady. She was so feisty and bubbly. And she wore this red leather jacket, which looked totally good on her. Thelma Wells was a really good speaker and I liked her story. She gave an example of how you should never despised the Lord for what He is doing in your life, even if you don't understand His plans for you. Through her story, I also learned that whatever you're going through, understand that the Lord knows you and knows what you're going through. "He will never leave you nor forsake you."
Two things that I liked most about the weekend were the music and the speaking of Max Lucado.
Avalon was the music guest at this conference. They were really good and so Godly. By hearing the word in their songs, you can just tell how anointed they are.
Max Lucado was a preacher from San Antonio. He was a really good speaker. At the conference, he talked about using your uniqueness to glorify God. He also mentioned that you cannot be anything that you want to be, but you can be everything that God intended for you to be. So do your best in everything and trust in God, because if God wants you to do something then He will give you the abilities to do it.
Overall, even though I didn't really enjoy the whole conference, I was still glad that I went. I think that everyone should at least go to WOF once time in their life. |
